Moving Right Along

The right print, to hang on the wall above the tool chest, is proving to be elusive.

The rest of the shop is coming along nicely however, especially with the recent arrival of an adjustable, stationary fit bike positioned right in front of the window.

Our collection of demo bikes rotate a bit, but in general you can expect to find two on the wall for display and test ride purposes, though we have more in back, and a new bike getting built up in the stand or an old bike in for service or repairs.  Two small chairs and a table are positioned to look out on Bradley Street, and make for a comfy spot to talk.

There isn’t much more to add to the showroom itself, we’re set up to discuss bikes, take measurements, repair and tune, and implement fittings.  In fact, the only short term things left to do are purely for aesthetics.

I am lucky to have friends and family who are both talented and willing to help me add a little polish where needed.  To name just a few:

Kelly G spent hours prepping the sidewalk planter box, which will soon be home to a beautiful flower garden.

The most strenuous part of the job was relocating a giant juniper plant from the planter to the side entrance, which will also require some landscaping over the next several weeks.  She left the planter perfectly manicured with row after row of soft dirt.

My mom has volunteered to help me landscape, and as a part time green thumb, I trust her style and plant recommendations most.  I can’t wait to discuss what she thinks will work, and look best.  We both love boxwood hedges, and am confident we’ll incorporate at least a few of them in front and along the side.  I have no idea if flowers can grow in low light areas, but a little color will go a long way to brighten our window.  I am most excited to see the planter come to life.

Lior T is helping in the creation of a wall mounted frame holder so I can hang the beautiful custom bike frames that have been coming through the store.  The purpose is to get them out of their cardboard boxes, free up some floor space, and to put them on display prior to being built.  We have a few beautiful painted frames coming down the pipeline that deserve a moment or two of display time before riding.  When that’s through, we have two more projects to work on as well, including modifying our vertical rack, and building a tasteful wooden floor stand.

I’ll post pictures as more changes take place.  Thanks to the many people who have stopped by to check out the shop!
